The International Science Film Festival of India (ISFFI) aims at popularising science among citizens as well as attracting and promoting talented young science filmmakers and science enthusiasts. This year we celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative of the Government of India, commemorating 75 years of progressive India and its glorious scientific history. The International Science Film Festival of India is scheduled from the 11th December to 13th December 2021, in Goa, India, and seeks to celebrate this initiative by fostering and creating the excitement of science amongst people at large. This would help inculcate scientific temper among the audience, thereby shaping analytical thinking, a prerequisite for the inclusive development of any nation. The initiative recognizes the effort and contribution of film producers in the specialized areas of science and technology and motivates them to develop this unique profession of science film making with innovative quality content for the public interest.
The festival offers an opportunity for filmmakers from across the world to communicate science using the medium of films and also learn the art of science filmmaking through several Masterclass, Webinars, and Panel Discussions. The 3 days science film festival in its hybrid platform (offline and online) will showcase internationally acclaimed and award-winning foreign and Indian films and also invite short films/documentaries/animated films from International and Indian filmmakers on the theme of “Science for Everyone” and "INDIAN SCIENCE @75".
