The Student Science Village program, an initiative in the India International Science Festival (IISF), is intended to provide students with an opportunity to explore and engage with science in a fun and interactive way, inculcating scientific temperaments, creativity, and innovations, thereby, promoting scientific literacy, critical thinking and encourage youngsters to pursue careers in STEM.
The program is open to all the students of classes VIII to XI. Nominations will be invited from the Aspirational districts, 'First villages' of the border districts from every nook and corner of the country. The key objectives of the program are to provide students with an opportunity to explore scientific concepts and problem-solving aptitude and develop teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
The program offers hands-on experiments, interactive exhibits, and interactions with scientists, technocrats, innovators, and educators enabling students to learn by doing and reconnecting the world of science. Students can watch scientific films, mega science expo, and visit scientific institutes to gain a deeper understanding of research and development. The activities are designed for students to discover their interests and skills in S&T and innovation, become critical thinkers, and inspire and empower the next generation of young scientists and innovators for New India.
